Canadian Executive Service Organization

Toronto-based Canadian Executive Service Organization (CESO) is a not-for-profit organization that helps to build proud independent communities. Over 2,800 distinguished Volunteer Advisers (VAs) on the CESO roster share their professional experience by serving as mentors, advisers and trainers to clients and partners at home and abroad.

CESO’s Ryan Blackwell is responsible for fund development and sponsor relations for the organization. He turned to The Research Store for customized training on how to identify his organization’s most promising potential funders.

Because the knowledge she passed to me was practical, I find myself using her words and ideas to explain to those around me,” says Ryan.

The Research Store delivered “Prospect Research and the Fundraising Process” training. Ryan says, “Carolyn’s approach was to provide a structured session that allowed for just the right amount of flexibility.  This enabled us to stop and do some real-time internet research, discuss high-level issues that fundraisers experience during the various stages of a campaign and answer any questions that I had throughout our three hours together.”

He adds, “Carolyn brings enthusiasm, patience and clearly a great deal of experience to the table.  Because the knowledge she passed to me was practical, I find myself using her words and ideas to explain to those around me.  We will not hesitate to work with The Research Store in the future and I personally look forward to learning with Carolyn as I grow my career.”
